Celebrate Archives Day with us!

Welcome to Archives Day 2024, and our fantastic Hökarängsarkiv. This year we are celebrating extra hard, with a reopening of the archive, which has been redecorated by the artist and carpenter Adam Dangeros Gustafsson. In addition, we are presenting two new collections, created under the project The Global in the Local:

The interview film ‘Nico in Hökarängen’ brings together a number of people, originating from Latin America, who share their stories and thoughts about Hökarängen. The film is made by Daniel Aguirre and Morgana de Mello.

Extrapris is based on the discount store Matdax. A series of Extrapris posters were collected by design researcher and Hökarängen resident Maryam Fanni in 2021 and 2022. These have been taken care of by bookbinder Johanna Svenonius, who has made a catalogue of the posters. The accompanying publication Extra Prize in the Archive - a donation letter is released today.

Read more about the Global in the Local project here.

During the day you will have the opportunity to meet other Hökarängen afficionados, share your memories, and get an insight into the new archive. In addition, we will organise a panel discussion where those who have been involved in the project The Global in the Local will talk about how it all happened.
