Oferenda is a ritual of worship and resistance. It takes the form of a Samba event integrating music, dance and offerings with commentary on Samba’s political and spiritual roots. Recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage and celebrated as Brasil’s national dance, Samba is widely known for its cultural and artistic significance. This evening highlights Samba’s roots in Afro-Brazilian religious traditions, particularly Candomblé and Umbanda, and its legacy as a form of political resistance. 

Brasil com S is a diasporic samba group based in Sweden, formed by Caio Marques De Oliveira, Filipe Jesus Minhava, Vinicius Santiago, João Almeida, and Lisa Janbell. Oferenda marks the group’s debut, presented for the first time at Konsthall C.
