If you’ve been to Konsthall C lately, you might have encountered a new face in the office: Konsthall C's new intern Andrea Urquieta.

She is a student at Hyper Island, specializing in People and Operations management. Originally from Chile, she has spent her last 17 years in Helsinki in Finland. She will be with us until June, focusing on management, staff policy and our amazing Hökarängen archive.

What made you apply for an internship at Konsthall C?

I love art — it feeds my soul, and I enjoy seeing how things work behind the scenes. I have wondered for as long as I can remember, how it would be to work for an art institution, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. Konsthall C is a special place and I was eager to learn how its special sauce is created.

Is there a difference between the tech industry and the arts? What could art learn from the business side of things and vice versa?

In this particular context, you have far more freedom in the arts. It is more abstract and is not as result driven as the tech industry. If the arts could learn from the business side of things, it's the importance of creating a great workplace culture. Be it improving the existing culture, as well as implementing overall HR practices, this is an important element of any workplace.

Now that you have spent a few weeks with us, is there anything that stands out, and/or that you would like to dive deeper into?

There’s so much to learn about Konsthall C and Hökarängen! So interesting, definitely want to keep diving into that. It is fascinating how such a little place can have so much history.

What will you do when your internship is over? What are your dreams?

I want to keep working toward making great and safe workplaces for people, that is something that I’m deeply passionate about.
