Our society needs to be healed, mended and shaken up. This necessary collective healing process takes place by meeting around the most pressing issues of art and society.

Art and human rights are inextricably intertwined, a fundamental understanding that can help us become bearers of a lasting power and capacity for change. Konsthall C opens up our program in the spring and autumn for conversations that we are missing and that we hope many people want to join and contribute to our program. We call for everything from workshops, rites, healing experiments, dance, art works, music, lectures, conversations, speeches, activist training to choral singing. We are open to anything that sets the collective in motion.

New forms of community are determined by the depth of our relationships and our shared longing. Relationships are the simple interaction that unites us, with our loved ones, people we encounter in our everyday life, and how we live as citizens of society.

Deadline: February 26th

We are now at an important crossroads in Sweden. We need to change the root system of society itself - as the equality gaps in society are increasing significantly. Konsthall C hopes to create a place where we can turn to each other to seek strength to collectively build conditions for transformative justice, resilience, healing and deepened relationships.

Until the current government presents its second budget in November this year, this open call calls for a chorus of voices who want to contribute their knowledge about the importance of art to how we build and defend a progressive democratic society. We believe that art and culture are a fundamental part of our society, and deserve respect, freedom and resources.

We ask you to listen deeply, something that is intimately associated with identifying a longing. What do we long for?

The composer Pauline Oliveros, with her sound meditations, tried to "create an atmosphere of openness where everyone could be heard, and become aware that listening is healing". This practice extends beyond the traditional understanding of listening, to a relational and active listening, which requires both body and mind to be present. Many artists stage an advanced form of listening that is directed inward through their art practice. At the same time, they find an outward-looking way of listening in depth through which they try to document, present and understand the socio-cultural contexts that characterize our times.
