Sūgvāri / سوگواری
22 februari 2025
Date: 22 February at 14:00 (until evening)
Place: Konsthall C
Sūgvāri is a performance work that oscillates between the private and collective experiences of mourning and grief. Artist Bahar Borna Faraz draws on centuries of embodied practice, which comes from researching the role of women during traditional mourning rituals in pre-modern Iran. She also incorporates individual sentiment, casting the mourning ritual as that which has a clear, vivid start, but no real end.
Note this is a durational performance. Audience members are invited to stay for the duration or come and go as they need.
