Himlen går i grått, violett, rosa, aprikos och på en ledsen björk sitter en kråka
6–15 oktober 2023

Katarina Frifarare invites to a textile exhibition in process. And to a room for creative community.
The exhibition will show mixed work of textiles made by the artist. Both pieces in working process and completed work.
All visitors are welcome to join and contribute to a new co-creation project with the working title The more, the merrier. Together we will embroider on pieces of leftover fabric, the names of endangered species listed by SLU Artdatabanken, 2020 in Sweden. The small pieces will be sewn together and become a quilt of patchwork that enlightens diversity, fellowship, nature, and human.
Participation is open to everyone and are voluntary. Both inexperienced, beginners and professionals. You who don’t know how to, will learn while doing. The important thing is to show the diversity of stitches and hand, rather than correct needlework.
Together we´ll create a room to meet, craft, talk and share wisdom.
Opening 6/10 – 2023 kl 12-17
Katarina will be at the space on the 6th and 12th – 15th of October.
Welcome!
About Katarina Frifarare
The crafting is in focus in my practice. I mainly work with different textile techniques such as weaving, embroidery, quilting and some natural dyeing. But I continuously try and explore different crafts. I make both artwork and crafted utility´s, which I put same value in to making.
I often work with themes that reflects on mankind as a social being in relation to her surroundings, historical and contemporary context. Where handicraft acts as a pathway to knowledge and fellowship.
