Light Within is an exhibition that feature new paintings and sculptures by Elin Karlsson.

Elin makes work that combines resistance and fragility as trauma responses. In these new works she searches for a pre-traumatic place of making. Through ideas of affect, as a pre-verbal utterance, she follows direct and intuitive ways of making. The result is a body of work that arise from a well of naivety and joyful exuberance.

Despite this playful approach, the works delve into the concerns of later seasons of womanhood, encompassing its diverse roles, joys and pressures. Elin thinks of these works as tools that expose vulnerability which in turn holds the quality of a therapeutic inner joy. The works reflect on the quest for harmony—both within oneself, with the wider world and creativity.

The artist will host a finissage on the 15th of march between 1 - 3pm!
