Skuld
15–17 december 2023

Since November 2022, Skuld (meaning debt, or guilt), through its visitors and actors, has occupied older historic buildings in Gothenburg, Malmö and Stockholm to pay off a debt that has been untouched since 1887. Now Poste Restante and Nya Rörelsen Choreographers in Skåne are inviting you to a screening one last time before the turn of the year , this time at Konsthall C in Hökarängen.
Skuld is a participant-based performance, a community dance in the footsteps of colonialism with someone else's shoes on.
Together, visitors and actors perform a ritual where they lend their own bodies for someone else to take their place. The session is carefully choreographed, with respect for everyone's physical integrity. It aims to create new positions in the room, which leave space for reconciliation and spirits from the past.
Skuld is a work by Majula Drammeh and a co-production between Poste Restante and Nya Rörelsen Koreografer in Skåne. Through her bodily practice, Majula wants to give space for audiences and actors to deal with their own bodily identity and the political baggage it carries with it. At Konsthall C, Skuld encounters a new type of place that is confronted with its history every day through the artistic activity that takes place there. Maybe you can get in touch?
